Guy Fawkes and Parihaka
By Gloria
A few hundred years ago November in England a guy tried to blow up Parliament. Well Parihaka was once knights said that the maori people that they had to move somewhere else but the two leaders Te Whiti and Tohu tried to protest peacefully. The troops arrested the two leaders and many other men and they were jailed for 16 months in Dunedin.
People celebrate by putting fireworks off. A lot of little kids like sparklers and the ones you hold and it shoots in the sky. My favorite fireworks would be the ones you point to the sky and rainbow balls will fly out like a comet and explode. What do you think write it in the comment section
We should celebrate Guy Fawkes on the day when England‘s parliament was about to get blown up, I think the fireworks can help us to remember not to do bad things because you could get sent to jail a year or more. Sometimes if you protest peacefully you might be able to solve the problems.
Parihaka is a town established on the slopes of Taranaki by Te Whiti and Tohu. The leaders peacefully protest against land being stolen by government soldiers. There village was destroyed and the women and children were sent away.
I think New Zealand should celebrate Guy Fawkes and Parihaka because remember our mistakes by the past history. Peace not violent, stands up for weakness.
